On Sunday, July 10, rains lashed many cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, Navsari, Nadiad, Valsad, Bharuch, and so on. On average, Gujarat has received a total of 12 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Traffic was badly affected due to waterlogging in several parts of the city. The state has received 36% rainfall so far. The meteorological department has forecast rains with winds of 30 to 40 kmph today as well.

Many areas in Ahmedabad like Shyamal Cross Roads, Prahladnagar Corporate Road, Ranip, Juhapura, and other parts of the city witnessed waterlogging. Internal roads of the city witnessed lake-like scenes. It rained 18 inches in Paldi of Ahmedabad, 15 inches in Usmanpura, 13 inches in Bodakdev, 12 inches in Jodhpur, 12 inches in Bopal, 12 inches in Muktampura, 8 inches in Gota, and 7 inches in Chandlodia. Ahmedabad has received an average of 8 inches of rain. Vehicular movement is still affected in the city even after 12 hours of rain. 

In fact, in the last 24 hours, 218 talukas in the state have received heavy rainfall. Places like Bodeli, Quant, Jambughoda, Jetpurpavi, and Chhetaudepur saw much waterlogging, and all these areas have received more than 15 inches of rain. Bodeli in Chhotaudepur has received the highest rainfall of 22 inches in the state. Kota in Chhotaudepur was 17.5 inches, Jambughoda in Panchmahal 17 inches and Pavi Jetpur in Chhotaudpur 16 inches. While Sagbara, Sankheda, Dediyapada, Ghoghamba, Dolvan, Vansada, Nadiad, Godhra, Sojitra also received more than 10 inches of rain. Kutch has received 11.75 inches of rainfall so far. North Gujarat received 5.78 inches, South Gujarat 24.28 inches, Central Gujarat 9.53 inches, and Saurashtra 11.12 inches.

Also, Subura of Dang sees nearly 9 inches, almost 6 inches in Tilakwara of Narmada and in Halol of Panchmahal, five inches in Umarpada of Surat, Morbi, Khergam of Navsari, Kheda, Gurudeshwar in Narmada. Four inches of rainfall was seen in Kheda Vas, Dabhoi as well as Anand.

At present 13 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and 16 platoons of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are deployed in the state. A team of SDRF has been sent from Vadodara to Chota Udaipur for help. 2 teams of NDRF in Navsari, a team of NDRF each in Gir Somnath and Surat, a team of NDRF in Rajkot, Banaskantha and Valsad, a team of NDRF in Bhavnagar, Kutch and Amreli and Jamnagar, Dwarka and a team of NDRF has been deployed in Junagadh.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a high-level review meeting on heavy rains in South Gujarat and especially in Chhotaudpur, Navsari, and Valsad. Returning from a tour of Rajkot district, he reached the State Emergency Operations Center at Gandhinagar directly from the helipad. He reviewed the heavy rains, especially in 6 districts. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel explained the situation by talking directly to the Chhota Udaipur District Officer from the control room of the State Emergency Operations Center at Gandhinagar.
