GUWAHATI, OCT 16: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday attended the Platinum jubilee celebration concluding ceremony of Dibrugarh Hanumanbux Surajmal Kanoi (DHSK) College. The chief minister was also conferred the Dr Lakhi Prasad Dutta Memorial Award by the College, constituted in the name of one of its founders, during the programme.
The chief minister during his address announced a grant of Rs 5 crore for construction of an airconditioned auditorium in the college. DHSK College principal Sashi Saikia, Jyoti Prasad Kanoi, Dr Nirmal Sahewalla were present during the programme.
The chief minister later unveiled a statue of Dr Bhupen Hazarika built by Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) on the premises of Dibrugarh DC office.
The chief minister winded up his Dibrugarh visit by inaugurating the Assam Tea Golden Cup ‘All Assam Inter-Garden Women’s Football Tournament 2022’ organised by the Assam Tea Tribes Sports and Cultural Association at the Chowkidinghee playground.
“Witnessed Assam Tea Golden Cup ‘All Assam Inter-Garden Women’s Football Tournament 2022’. I’m sure this’ll be a potent platform for sporting talents of tea gardens. Best wishes to all participants,” the CM said.
