Assam: Delhi Public school organises open Swimming competition

GUWAHATI, OCT 29: Delhi Public School Dibrugarh organized a first of its kind in town an open Swimming Competition on Saturday.

Around 125 swimmers from Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Moran, Duliajan, Sivsagar, Biswanath Charali and other adjoining areas participated in the competition in various types of swimming styles like 25 m freestyle, 50 m freestyle, Backstroke etc.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. J. P. Verma, Vice Chancellor, Aniruddhadeva Sports University, Assam, PVC Sanjay Jain and Board Member Banita Jain.

The competition witnessed a lot of excitement and rush of adrenaline, followed by the prize distribution Ceremony wherein students from various districts of Assam bagged prizes.

The Chief guest impressed on the importance of fitness and encouraged the students to participate in Games and sports on regular basis to maintain agility.

Furthermore, he emphasised upon the mantra of 3 ‘Ds’ i.e Discipline, Dedication and Dedication and 2 ‘H’ i.e Honesty and Hardwork to be imbibed by every student throughout their lives.
