Assam: Dibrugarh DTO staff, broker arrested

GUWAHATI,  OCT 19: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Wednesday arrested one Ditimoni Gogoi, a junior assistant of Dibrugarh district transport office and a broker Pankaj Saikia.

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team trapped Pankaj Saikia red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 700 allegedly on behalf of Gogoi for facilitating offline payment of road tax.

Notably, the Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Vigilance, Assam has launched a massive crackdown against corruption in government departments. Several key government officials have so far been trapped and arrested after being caught red-handed taking bribes.
