GUWAHATI, JAN 5: The minor girl, who was allegedly kidnaped was rescued by police from a char area in Assam’s Bongaigaon district on Wednesday.
“The girl allegedly kidnapped from Duliajan-Dibrugarh has been recovered at Bongaigaon and would be reunited with family,” tweeted Special DGP GP Singh.
Bharat Agarwal, father of the minor girl said, “I thanked Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and police for timely action in searching my daughter,”.
A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnaped by a person in Duliajan in upper Assam Dibrugarh district on December 31. The girl have been identified as Jolly Agarwal of Duliajan.
The person who allegedly kidnaped the minor girl have been identified as Jahidul Ali.
A missing complaint was filed by the girl father in Duliajan Police station on January 1.
“My daughter Jolly Agarwal went to Gogoi market for tuition at about 6 pm on December 31, but she didn’t return. She didn’t response to mobile call. Her mobile rang two times but she did not pick,” Bharat Agarwal, father of the girl stated in the FIR.
Meanwhile, Dibrugarh police has arrested three persons in connection with the Duliajan abduction case.
Police has arrested the brother of main accused Bodiul Jamal, father – Abdul Jalil of Kalgachia and maternal uncle, Babu Ali.
Police still searching the main accused Jahidul Ali.
A case no 1/2023 u/s 366 IPC was registered at Duliajan police station.
