DIBRUGARH, FEB 1: The Annual Sports Meet events kicked off with the lighting of the torch by Shivangi Sarma, renowned National Level Swimmer of Assam and Gold Medalist in Khelo India Youth Games 2020, followed by an hour-long opening ceremony held at the school ground.
The event was graced by Shivangi Sarma as the Chief Guest, Sanjay Upadhyay, District Sports Officer (DSO, Dibrugarh) and other dignitaries and parents.
The Opening Ceremony was decorated with a well synchronized parade of the various houses of the school, NCC scouts and school’s band troop instilling pride and discipline.
The winners of Sports Events were awarded with medals and certificates by Shivangi Sarma.
She also inspected the school’s swimming pool and took a dive in it. In her speech, she had high regards for Shiksha Valley as school providing world class education. Highly impressed, she called its infrastructure as State of the art.
Addressing the students, she urged each one to strike a balance between Sports and Academics. She also spoke on the career opportunities in sports.
On Sunday, Shiksha Valley School hosted its first Annual Day Event 2023 “TEJOMAY” with a colorful show performed by the students. The day was graced by dignitaries, parents and guests.
The highlight of the show was Babita Phogat Suhag, accomplished Wrestler and Gold Medalist in Commonwealth Games 2014, as the Chief Guest.
She was accompanied by Shivangi Sharma, as the Guest of Honor. The event was made auspicious with the Lighting of the Lamp by Babita Phogat Suhag and Shivangi Sharma along with other eminent dignitaries.
The Dangal girl, Babita Phogat Suhag, in her speech appreciated students for their cultural orientation.
She also praised the school management for instilling Indian traditional values in students.
She enthralled the audience with her powerful speech stressing on the importance of sports as an integral part of education.
Addressing the parents, she appealed to them on raising kids without gender discrimination and empowering the girl child.
With the thrilling tag lines “Padhoge Likhoge toh banoge Nawab, Kheloge Kudoge toh banoge Lazawab” she insisted on the importance of physical health through participation in sports.
Shivangi Sharma who was the Guest of Honor in her speech highlighted the need for extracurricular activities.
She also appreciated the school for providing such great infrastructure with such great opportunities to the students to explore themselves in various fields.
Basant Kumar Agarwalla, Founder Chairman, shared his vision of making Shiksha Valley School a promising dream for every child.
He stressed on the all-round development and focus on a holistic approach.
