Mandakini has made a comeback to the industry after 25 years. Recently, she returned to the limelight with a music video called Maa O Maa. The song featured the veteran actress and her son, Rabbil Thakur.
The Ram Teri Ganga Maili actress talked extensively on the cancel culture and boycott calls on social media in an interview, just like many other celebrities. The cancel culture is spreading like wildfire on social media platforms as people are boycotting so many films and actors. On Twitter, there have been negative boycott trends for Laal Singh Chaddha, an Aamir Khan film, and Raksha Bandhan, an Akshay Kumar film.
The actress doesn’t support this boycott culture. She believes that, “Artists and technicians work really hard and a lot of effort goes into making a film. Also, whatever an Artist is doing is purely for the public’s entertainment”.
Mandakini expressed her opinions on the boycott trend and negativity, “I feel it is really wrong. I don’t support this. Every person works hard. Voh ye soch ke kaam karta hai ki karodo log meri movie dekhenge aur pyaar denge Usme mein se kisi ek ko choose karna aur kehna iski movie mat dekhiye, I don’t think it is fair. But then again, some people feel that they have support so they can say anything. And some people feel they don’t have support. If we say something, then we will get into the bad books. There are all kinds of people – some are afraid, some are outspoken. So I feel this is not the correct thing. Not at all.”
