The cultural city Vadodara is renowned for its Navratri celebrations and every year people from all across the country and world comes here to be part of traditional Garba. Staying true to the essence of Vadodara’s cultural heritage, City based Parul University with a maxim of ‘Be Here…Be Vibrant’ organised a grand Navratri event for its students specially the ones coming from different countries.
The PU Navratri has been celebrated over the years in the city with largest number of students in attendance. This year the University has taken up their Navratri celebration up a notch by organizing one of the biggest university navratri called the PU Navratri Festival’22 for 11 days.
With over 38000+ students from 65 countries studying here, the university also organised a special beginner’s garba workshop with provisions of traditional garba outfit and accessory stall in the campus.
In a bid to make the events memorable, the university invited RJ Kshitij and band from ‘Vatt thi Gujarati’ to perform for 11 days for Ratri before Navratri, Navratri and Dusshera. Best Khelaiya students will also receive attractive cash prizes in the solo and group categories at the end of each night.
Some of the nationalities of students participating in PU Navratri this year would be from Switzerland, Spain, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Nepal, Afghanistan, Tanzania and Indonesia, U.S.A, Australia, US, South Africa, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Malawi, Ghana, amongst others. It is a rare sighting for people from diverse global cultures to come together to celebrate a festival.
