Brahmastra becomes the first Bollywood film to top the Worldwide Box Office Chart, grossing ₹100 crore in India and ₹200 crore globally.

Brahmastra, the year’s most anticipated film, was finally released on September 9. Despite receiving a lot of criticism on social media, the film has created history in Bollywood by becoming the first Hindi film to be ranked number one worldwide.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra was the top film at the global box office during the weekend. This is the first time a Bollywood film has topped the global box office charts, and the third time in the previous two years that an Indian film has done so well.

According to US box office tracker Box Office Mojo, Brahmastra Part One- Shiva made ₹212 crore ($26.5 million) globally in just three days. This figure comprises $4.4 million from the US market alone, as well as $18 million from India. The film was released in five Indian languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malyalam & Kannada).

Ayan Mujherji’s Brahmastra is currently ahead of two Asian films: the Chinese film “Give Me Five,” which grossed $21.50 million in China, and the Korean film “Confidential Assignment 2: International,” which grossed $19.50 million in Korea. This time, the top 3 movies in the global list are from Asian countries. Other films that topped the worldwide box office during 09-11 September 2022 are: Barbarian – $10.50 million, Bullet Train – $8.95 million, Minions: The Rise of Gru – $7.45 million, Top Gun: Maverick – $7 million, New Gods: Yang Jian – $5.25 million, The Invitation – $5 million and Hero – $5 million.
