Last month, the Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh got into trouble because of his nude photographs that he posted on his social media account. Paper Magazine, an international publication, captured the photographs for their front page cover. Many people backed the actor, while a few people hated it and responded harshly.
FIR was filed against him at Chembur police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by an officer-bearer of a non-governmental organization (NGO). The FIR contained claims that, “He had harmed the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty through his photographs”.
Mumbai police summoned Ranveer multiple times to provide his statement. He was supposed to appear before the police on August 22, but he couldn’t due to his hectic schedule and professional commitments. According to the officials, the Bajirao Mastani actor appeared before the police around 7 a.m. on Monday to record his testimony regarding his nude photos. A source revealed that, the actor stated in his police statement that he did not post the controversial photographs. Moreover, he added that he wasn’t aware that the nude photo shoot would cause him this much trouble.
