“Cables were used to suspend people, who then dropped. I didn’t sleep because I was up all night assisting others. It was tragic to witness a woman 7-8 months pregnant pass away. I’ve never seen something like that in my life.” A witness witnessing the collapse of the Morbi bridge told ANI the following.
Mona Movar lost her 11-year-old daughter when the bridge over the Machchhu River collapsed, while her husband and younger son were fighting for their life in Morbi Civil Hospital. The lives of my nephew and brother-in-law are in jeopardy, and my sister is constantly sobbing. Sonal, Mona’s sister, who works for an NGO, told TOI that while our family members were at the hospital, she was attempting to take her sister home, according to TOI.
