The centre is trying to interfere state functioning matter says Shantanu Sen

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) expressed strong opposition to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement calling for a uniform law and order policy for all states on Friday, claiming that the Centre was attempting to interfere with state government operations and that such a move was intended to undermine the nation’s federal system.

Law and order is a state issue, according to TMC Rajya Sabha MP Santanu Sen, who accused the Narendra Modi-led government of deploying central agencies to encircle the Opposition-ruled states. However, without consulting the states about the issue, the

They are being forced to follow Centre’s decisions. The Center tries to meddle in the operation of the state governments by expanding the BSF’s jurisdiction and expanding the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

He claimed the BJP is utilising central agencies like the CBI, Enforcement Directorate (ED), NIA, Income Tax, and others as political tools to combat the opposition parties or opposition-ruled states after losing out on its political friends over the years.

Shah had said on Thursday that since some crimes, like cross-border terrorism and cybercrimes, go beyond state and regional boundaries, governments should have a coordinated approach to upholding law and order.
Shah also said that every state would have an NIA office to fight terrorism by 2024.

BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya backed the Center’s move by asserting that West Bengal has become a haven for terrorists.
Terrorism has increased during the previous 15 years.
The Center has no wish to endanger the country’s internal security.
