Guwahati, Feb 17: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday addressed two election rallies at Mon town and at Wozuro in Wokha district to gather support for the NDPP BJP alliance who are jointly contesting in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state.
The senior BJP leader from the Northeast vouched for the continuity of BJP NDPP’s work towards sustaining peace, progress and prosperity of Nagaland.
Addressing poll rallies, Union Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “The holistic development of Nagaland and the whole of the Northeast has been made possible due to the untiring effort by our hard working and dynamic Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. The peace attained in the region and sustainable development in the region are the result of the vision Prime Minister Modi ji has for the Northeast to become the new engine of growth for India. Modi ji’s love and goodwill for Northeast knows no bound and is evident from his 56 visits to the Northeast in last 8 years. No Prime Minister of India has ever given so much importance for the development and growth of the Northeast before Modi ji. Under his dynamic leadership, the BJP-NDPP alliance will continue to work towards peace, progress and prosperity of Nagaland. Your vote for the BJPNDPP alliance is the vote for peace and progress of Nagaland.”
Sonowal said, “Under the dynamic leadership of PM Narendra Modi, India has become an important member in the global community. This has happened as India works itself towards becoming a self reliant country by 2047 – a novel goal set by the PM Modi ji in order to propel economic progress and development of the country. The immense welfare schemes launched by the Modi govt is a testament towards bringing efficiency in the governance for the benefit of public and the larger good. Nagaland has also been blessed with peace and development due to the untiring effort of the PM Modi to find for sustainable & respectable solution to the issues of the Naga society. I am confident that the effort to propel growth in the region is only the beginning for a glorious era of progress of the region including Nagaland as it gears to become the engine of growth for India in the ensuing future.”
The 60-member Nagaland assembly will go for polls on February 27.
