The cultural city of Vadodara witnessed the launch of India’s first-ever directory dedicated to street dog welfare that aims to create a stronger network of citizens by connecting community members with multiple agencies and services committed to street dog welfare in Vadodara. Humane Society International/India (HS/India) in collaboration with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) launch this India’s first-ever directory dedicated to street dog welfare.
Around 50 services were listed in the directory which includes a repository of dog welfare-focused individuals and agencies that offer services like dog rescues, veterinary, ambulances, transport, adoptions, treatments, vaccinations, and Animal Birth Control (ABC) facilities. “In 2022 we completed 87% sterilization of dogs and want to make a network to connect people who are providing discounted services for street dogs. We want to bring every related services through this directory. After Vadodara we want to launch similar directories in other cities too,” Dr. Vrushti MawaniSenior Programe Manager Humane Society, Ahmedabad.
