Guwahati, JAN 12: State Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Wednesday urged the parents of the young generation to guide their children in a proper way and ensure that they follow the road safety rules in order to prevent any unwanted accidents.
Suklabaidya attended the inaugural ceremony of the Road Safety Week 2023 at Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati.
This week will be observed as Road Safety Week across the state from January 11 to 17, 2023 in line with the guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways(MoRTH).
While speaking at the occasion, Parimal Suklabaidya pitched on the importance of imparting required driving skills and necessary knowledge related to road safety rules to all commercial vehicles drivers.
The Minister directed Transport Commissioner to issue a notice to all motor vehicle associations to Assam to undertake such training programs for the drivers annually.
Breath analysers were handed over to Assam police, Public Announcement systems were handed over to DTO(Enforcement),Kamrup Metro & kit bags were distributed amongst Path Suraksha Mitras on the occassion by the minister.
The inaugural session was attended by Adil Khan,Commssioner & Secretary, Assam Transport Department, Additional DCP,Traffic, Guwahat, Additional Director of Assam Health & FW Department & Special Secretary, PWD along with the officials of Transport Department.
