GUWAHATI: CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechurry on Friday alleged ruling BJP for distributing huge money and using central agencies to win the upcoming assembly polls in Tripura.
Yechurry said the people of Tripura are desperate to ousted BJP from power, who is using muscle power and money to win the election.
Speaking to media persons here, Yechurry said, “BJP, central government agencies hatched serious conspiracy to rig the elections. Three days before the polling there could serious law and order problem by the BJP,”.
“After the BJP led government came to power in Tripura the law and order has been worsened. We demand protection of the voters because any time law and order can worsned in the state. The party has failed to prevailed peace in the state,” the CPI-M general secretary said.
He further said, “Election Commission must take pro-active appropriate steps to allow the voters to come to the polling stations and cast their votes fearlessly. Our delegation would meet the Election Commission on Friday to apprise the prevailing situation in the poll bound Tripura,”.
Yechurry has been campaign in Tripura for last few days and visited to the voters to apprise them.
Congress and CPI-M has been jointly contesting the Tripura assembly polls to defeat the BJP.
Both the parties have stated campaigning and seeking votes from the voters.
The 60-member Tripura assembly will go for polls on February 16.
