Guwahati: Feb 14: Tipra Motha supremo Pradyut Debbarma on Tuesday announced to left politics after this elections.
While addressing a poll rally on Tuesday at Charilam constituency in Tripura, Pradyut Debbarma said, “This was my last political speech because I have decided to left politics. You will not see ‘Bubagra’ anymore in politics. I have started my political journey from Charilam and today my political journey will end from this Charilam constituency,”.
Pradyut Debbarma is also known as ‘Bubagra’ among his people.
“I am leaving politics but I will remain in your heart. I have fight for your rights but many leaders have left me after they were denied ticket from our party. Earlier, they committed many things to me but after they were denied ticket from our party they joined BJP. Our leaders and everybody wants to become MLA and leader but nobody thinks for our poor people,” the Tipra Motha chief asserted.
He further said, “I think I am alone but you people help me a lot to fight for the indegenous people of Tripura. Our own leaders betrayed me and left our party but you people trusted at me. Our fight is for the rights of the indegenous people and I can say you that we have not compromise with the rights of the people of Tripura,”.
Taking a dig at Tripura Deputy Chief minister Jishnu Debbarma, who is contesting from Charilam constituency, Pradyut said BJP have not done anything in the last five years for the people of Tripura.
“Jishnu Debbarma belongs to my family but for me Country and its people is more important from Parivar(Family). The double engine government spread falsehood in the last year elections in reality done nothing for the people of the state,” he said.
While speaking to the people of Charilam, Pradyut got emotional and cried and thank the people for supporting him.
“I can’t lie or theft but pressure put on me for an alliance. Many leader betrayed me for not getting ticket and joined BJP. But the people of Puraibodol never left me. On March, 2 we will form government and I will go to New Delhi for the genuine rights of the people,” he said.
He further added, “I am tired, no strength left in me but the love for you gives me some strength to fight for your rights. I have not contested the election because I don’t want to become leader. Many people called me communal but I didn’t do communal politics,”.
Pradyut Debbarma campaign for Subodh Debbarma, who is contesting from Charilam constituency aganist deputy chief minister Jishnu Debbarma.
Tipra Motha has been contesting in 42 out of 60 assembly seats.
