On Saturday, a raid in Howrah by the detective division of the Kolkata Police’s anti-Bank Fraud Section resulted in the recovery of a sizable sum of cash and jewellery from the automobile of a suspect in a cheating and forgery case. According to a police source, a car allegedly contained more than Rs 2 crore.
The initial complaint of forgery and cheating was filed under section 120B/420/467/468/471 of the IPC at the Hare Street police station. Later, the detective division took over the investigation, and last night’s raid was carried out by the bank fraud section (Saturday).
Shailesh Pandey, the main suspect, is eluding capture while police are searching for him.
Sources claim that the Canara Bank of India filed a complaint. Authorities at Canara Bank discovered several odd activity in one particular account. The bank began keeping an eye on the account. Last but not least, the bank authority reported fraudulent conduct to the Lalbazar police station.
The anti-bank branch of the detective department launched an inquiry after the case was reported to the Hare Street police station. Large sums of money, as well as jewellery and diamonds, were found in the primary accused’s automobile. Numerous locations are the subject of search efforts.
