Jairam Ramesh continued, “It is quite regrettable that the Supreme Court did not act in accordance with the spirit of India on this subject. Karti Chidambaram discussed the early release of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination suspects in an interview with India Today. “The rule of law should be inferred to anyone with a similar conviction,” he declared. There should be no issue if the law permits. But everyone in the same category must be subject to the law. Early release should not be a cause for celebration.
