West Bengal truck collision Five, including two children, killed in car

The collision occurred when a truck travelling in the other direction met head-on with an SUV that was travelling south and had to change lanes due to the road coming to an end.
In a horrific occurrence, five people—including two children—were murdered on Friday morning at Nadia in West Bengal after their vehicle crashed head-on with a truck.

According to the police, the boys were brothers, the younger one being 7 years old and the older one being 11 years old. Their grandma and a relative were also in the car, which their father was operating. The five perished instantly.

“They were coming from Raiganj at Uttar Dinajpur in north Bengal and were going to a relative’s house at Bethuadahari in Nadia district. The accident took place around 7am. The victims were rushed to the local hospital at Bethuadahari where they were declared dead on arrival,” said a police officer.

Both vehicles crashed through the guard wall, with the SUV suffering severe damage, and both ending up in a roadside ditch. The injured individuals were transported to the hospital by locals, but the physicians pronounced them dead. The truck’s driver and his assistant fled the scene. Of the five people who died, four have been identified.
