Assam: AASU takes out protest rally against skyrocketing price rise

GUWAHATI, OCT 13: The members of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) on Thursday took out a protest rally in various parts of the state against skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.

The AASU members took out a rally from the Dibrugarh poolbaghan holding playcards and banners and shouted slogan against the government for failing to curb price of essential commoditieas.

Similarly, in Lakhimpur the members of the Students’ organisation staged a protest against the price rise. Aboni Kumar Gogoi, Dibrugarh district AASU president said, “The government have failed to curb the skyrocketing price rise. The food and civil supplies minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass has failed to do his duties. The government has been working at the behest of a handful of powerful businessmen”.

“The government should immediately take steps to curb the spiralling price of essential commodities and make it affordable for the common people. The price of fuel must also come down. The government have committed to work for the people but the price rise has proved that it has miserable failed,” Gogoi stated.

Gogoi further added, “The BJP-led government have failed to control the unprecedented price rise of essential commodities. The price of fuel must also come down. The people are having a harrowing time due to skyrocketing price rise. The government have committed to work for the people but they failed miserably in all fronts.”
