Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma says Rahul Gandhi intentionally abused OBC community

Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi intentionally abused the OBC community of the country.

Speaking to reporters in Guwahati on Saturday, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a election speech in Karnataka abused the OBC community intentionally. He should rendered his apology to the community but he didn’t apologised to the community for his statement, which shows the arrogance of a leader,”.

“Rahul Gandhi is not held guilty by government of India. He was convicted by court of law for his unparliamentary speech against a community. In his speech he(Rahul Gandhi) used unparliamentary, defamatory word against the OBC community. Court has held him guilty for his statement,” Sarma stated.

Sarma further added, “He (Rahul Gandhi) should rendered apology after the statement. But he didn’t do that. Mistakes can happened with everyone. Sometimes due to slip of tongue we also made mistake but immediately we rendered apology. After a prolonged judiciary process of five years he was held guilty,”.

“I am a believer of Hindu philosophy, where their is say that “Karma strikes you back”. Rahul Gandhi can challenged the cour verdict to higher court. If a whole community was dragged then it was obvious that you have to faced the wrath,” Assam CM stated.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from the Lok Sabha on Friday, a day after being convicted to two years in jail in a defamation case over his ‘Modi surname’ remark in 2019. The notification came hours after Gandhi came to the Lok Sabha on Friday morning.
