Assam Congress lodges complaint against Maharasthra MLA

Guwahati: The Assam Congress on Tuesday has registered a complaint against Maharashtra MLA Bachchu Kadu in Dispur police station for his comments linking consumption of dog meat in Assam.

The complaint was guven by Assam Praesh Mahila Congress General Secretary Banashree Gogoi.

“On March 4, Bacchu Kadu, MLA from Achalpur LAC of State of Maharastra representing Janashakti Party stated in Maharashtra Assembly House in presence of chairperson and other political representative that the people of Assam used to consume dog meat and this fact is well known to him when he stayed at Guwahati,” Banashree Gogoi stated in the FIR.

She added, “This controversial statement has come to light via social platform which has gone viral and led bad remark to me as well as the Assamese people and promoting enemity between the people being an Assamese. I strongly oppose this statement with apprehension of malafide intention against Assam and the Assamese people. Such hatred speech delivered by the accused above named is intentional to disturb the peace loving Assamese people and to lower down the image of the Assamese people living in different areas of India and abroad,”.

“Being a member of the Legislative Assembly the accused namely Bacchu Kadu has violated the provision of Article 173 (A) of the Constitution of India whereby he has violated the integrity of our nation by spreading such hatred speech.You are requested to take necessary action to arrest the above named accused,” she added.
