Assam: Delhi Public School celebrates first annual day event ‘Utkrisht’

GUWAHATI, DEC 25: Delhi Public School Dibrugarh celebrated its 1st Annual Day event  Utkrisht,  with utmost fervor and exuberance, on December 24, 2022.

The event was graced by chief guest Sarbanada Sonowal, Union Cabinet Minster, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Ministry of Ayush, and former Chief Minister of Assam, Guest of Honour Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa, Padmashri Awardee, Guiness World Record Holder, Tenzing Norgay, National Adventure Awardee and Brand Ambassador of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Tsering Wange, 1st Indian to hold a record for World’s highest sky jump,  Mahabir Prasad Jain, founder of Gyan Ved foundation and Director of Delhi Public school Dibrugarh,  Banita Jain- Director DPS Dibrugarh,  Bhagwati Devi Jain, Board member, Pro Vice Chairman of DPS Dibrugarh- CA. Sanjay Jain, Angel and Devyanshi Jain alongwith other invited guests, parents and students.

The event began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony along with the Orchestra.

The Chief Guest and Guest of honour were felicitated by Director, DPS Dibrugarh, Mahavir Prasad Jain.

Pro Vice Chairman CA. Sanjay Jain presented the Welcome address and shared the vision of the school.

He also shared how and why this great school was set up in this part of the country.

He also highlighted the importance of Sports, respect for parents and teachers and how children who have been the worst victims of Covid, need to cope with pressure and come out triumphant in life.

The welcome address was followed by the speech by Chief Guest Sarbanada Sonowal wherein he reminded the audience about the paramount importance of Education.

 He stressed that for a wholesome personality of a student, a school should encourage a balance between Academics, Cultural and Sports activities. Furthermore, he congratulated the Management of Delhi Public School Dibrugarh for maintaining these parameters , giving them foremost importance and providing excellent facilities and opportunities to its young learners.

Dr Anshu Jamsenpa in her speech, encouraged the audience and students with her valuable words of wisdom. She also urged everyone to value and preserve the rich culture and heritage of our country.

The Principal, Probhati Biswas, presented the School Annual Report highlighting the prominent features of the school, the achievements in academics and co-curricular activities throughout the year.

The climax of the evening that enraptured the audience was the grand cultural show. The theme of the cultural program was ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The audience was  full of appreciation for the talent and skill revealed in each performance. There were  vibrant dances, melodious musical performances fortified with Role Play, Elomime and many more.
