Assam: Ex-serviceman rally held in Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI, DEC 14: Re-iterating Indian Army’s resolve to stand with the entire Ex-Servicemen fraternity, especially the Veer Naris and the Widows of Ex-Servicemen Dao Division conducted a mega Ex-Servicemen Rally at Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

The event was attended by more than 2500 Ex-servicemen and marked by felicitating the Veer Naris and Veterans above 80 years of age by the Chief Guest.

In his inaugural address the Lt General R C Tiwari, GOC 3 CORPS thanked the entire Ex-Servicemen fraternity and their families for their services and sacrifices to the Nation.

Dao Division in close liaison with various military establishment and civil administration setup numerous grievance redressal stalls, facilities of which were overwhelmingly subscribed by veterans and their families.

As part of the event a spectacular display of Army Military Band, Kalaripayattu Martial Art and cultural programme by NCC cadets were organized. The event was a tribute to honour the selfless services of our Veterans & their Families.

The Ex-servicemen Rally is covering ESM from across Dibrugarh District, Dinjan, Digboi and Tinsukia.

The “DAO DIVISION” in close liaison with concerned military establishments and civil administration is aiming at resolution of grievances of its Ex-servicemen.

In order to facilitate ESM & their dependents assistance, aids and services from all grievances redressal forums have been organised.

The Ex-Servicemen Rally is providing an opportunity to Veterans and their families to directly interact with both military & civil agencies in resolving impending issues like pension anomalies, ECHS and canteen card updation, Aadhar updation and benefits from central & state government departments.

The rally hosted by 5th Battalion of the Madras Regiment at Pologround in Dibrugarh.

Major General M S Bains, GOC 2 Mountain Division, Brigadier T.M. Sinha, Commander, 181 Mtn Brigade were present during the programme.
