Assam: Tea Gardens blessed by Lord Shiva

GUWAHATI: Lord Shiva, one of the most powerful deities of the Hindu Religion bless the Assam tea gardens.

To understand how; the Our India team visited several gardens across the state.

Beesakopie Tea Factory and Estate is one of the oldest gardens established by Britisher’s  in pre  independence. It is located near Doomdooma Town in Tinsukia district of upper Assam.

Beesakopie Tea Factory is 525 kilometers from capital Dispur and 25 kilometers from Tinsukia.

As soon as one enters the factory gate find the Shiva temple made of marvels. Every morning and evening religious rituals are done by the Pujari works here.

“We get divine energy. Before joining the work; we bow down before lord Shiva,” a worker told Our India.

Almost every Tea Estate in the state has a temple of Lord Shiva. Some have more than one.

One may experience greenery as that of tea gardens. Stay in a tea estate or walk across the lush green tea garden and enjoy its mystic beauty and feel the spirituality. Surely you must want to undertake such a journey at least once in your life!

Tea occupies an important place in Assam. Assam produces 51% of the tea produced in India and about 1/6th of the tea produced in the world. There are several tea gardens located in Assam, producing the finest quality tea.

There are about 2500 tea gardens in Assam mostly found in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sibsagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur districts of Assam.
