Guwahati: A video of a female Muslim doctor from Assam who was converted to Hinduism facing death threat from her family members went viral in social media and now become a taking point in Assam.
The female doctor sharing a video of her on X and pleading for help because her family members want to kill her for converted to Hinduism from Islam.
According to reports, she had voluntarily converted to Hinduism.
In the video, the woman alleged that she is facing death threats from her family and is being forced to marry a Maulavi.
She also introduced herself as Dr Alima Akhtar, a Muslim doctor from Assam Medical College.
The woman can also be heard asking for help from the Assam Police to take cognizance of the matter and take proper action in connection with it.
Soon after the video went viral, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma sharing the video on X, ordered an inquiry into the matter and asked officials to take proper action as per law.
The viral video of the doctor created sensation in Assam.
The woman shared the video on social media from an airport and informed that she is making the video of herself in the form of a statement.
She also said that she is safe. She can also be heard saying that her family has filed a false complaint of her being kidnapped so that they can reach out to her and hand her over to her family.
