Recently, the university organized both a Bihu karmashala and an iftardawatconsecutively, demonstrating the unity in diversity that is at the heart of the university’s ethos. A Bihu workshop at Dibrugarh University held from 29th March to 7thApril 2023, featured a range of cultural activities, including singing, dancing, art works and music performances, as well as traditional food and drink. Students from across the university came together to participate in the festivities, showcasing the vibrant and diverse culture of Assam. The Bihu workshop was a ten-day event that provided students with an opportunity to learn about the different aspects of the festival, including its history, traditions, and cultural significance.
The students who participated In the workshop not only learned about the festival but also got a chance to showcase their talents. Iftar is the meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during the month of Ramadan. The iftar party was organized to celebrate the diversity of the university and was a beautiful demonstration of solidarity and unity, with students from all backgrounds coming together to break bread and share in the joy of the occasion.
The iftar party was attended by students from different communities, and it was a great opportunity for them to learn about the traditions and customs of Ramadan.
