Tripura Assembly polls: Tipra Motha becomes first northeastern party to start crowd funding

Tipra Motha, become the first political party in the northeast to start crowd funding ahead of Tripura assembly polls.

Tipra Motha chief Pradyut Deb Barma said, “Tipra Motha is a new party, which was not supported by big businessman. BJP supported by Ambani and Adani, Congress supported by big man while CPI(M) supported by Kerala government. Tipra Motha don’t compromise with any party not given money, so today we are contesting without alliance,”.

“We open our bank account and I urge all Tiprsa and our well-wishers to donate money and support us. If we want to change the system, we want to show public from where the money has been coming and this bank account will give you all details. By opening this bank account we have offered you to donate a little money and help us to win the upcoming assembly elections,” Pradyut Deb Barma said.

Tipra Motha, which is making its assembly poll debut, is contesting in 42 of the total 60 seats in February 16 Tipura elections. Around 20 of these are tribal seats while the reasoning 22 are non-tribal ones.

Meanwhile, the party has fielded former MLA Ashish Das from Kamalasagar assembly constituency. Das had resigned from the BJP last year and joined Trinamool Congress and later left it to join Tipra Motha.

The 60-members Tripura Legislative Assembly polls will be held on February 16 and the result will be declared on March 2.
