SC affirms death penalty to LeT terrorist in 2000 Red Fort attack case

On Thursday, the Supreme Court rejected Mohammad Arif alias Ashfaq’s request for a review of the death penalty sentence it had imposed on him in the 2000 Red Fort attack case, which claimed the lives of three persons, including two Army jawans.

A bench made up of Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justice Bela M Trivedi announced that it had agreed to consider the requests for electronic records.
