‘Sacrifice of Galwan bravehearts won’t go in vain’: General MM Naravane’s powerful message on Army Day

India on Friday celebrated the 73rd Army Day to commemorate the first Indian Army Chief who took over the post on 15 January 1949 from the British. Extending warm wishes to the troops and their families, COAS General MM Naravane said: “Today, we salute the valour of our bravehearts, whose supreme sacrifice in the line of duty shall always inspire us. I also reaffirm our unstinted support to our ‘Veer Nains’ and their families.” The Army chief also gave a stern warning to China amid the eight-month-long standoff in the eastern Ladakh. “You all are aware of ongoing tension with China on northern borders. Regarding conspiracy to unilaterally change status quo on borders, a befitting reply was given. I want to assure the country that sacrifice of bravehearts of Galwan would not go in vain.” the Army Chief said.
