Students of different colleges affiliated to Dibrugarh University are also on protest in their respective colleges in protest against the fees hike. The protest will continue until Dibrugarh University rollback its decision.

Dibrugarh University receives enough funds from the UGC and government to function smoothly. The government is talking about free education and Dibrugarh University is resorting to fees hike which is pure anti-student policy, “DUPGSU president Bikash Misong said.

Meanwhile Dibrugarh University vice chancellor Jiten Hazarika has reiterated that the decision to hike fees was taken after due consultation with all stakeholders and there was no question of rollback of the decision.
