Case filed against Ajay Devgan & Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Thank God’ in UP for hurting religious sentiments.

The upcoming film “Thank God,” starring Ajay Devgan and Sidharth Malhotra, has been served with legal notice for allegedly mocking the Hindu religion and hurting religious sentiments of people.

Himanshu Srivastava, a lawyer, has filed a complaint in a Jaunpur court against director Indra Kumar and actors Ajay Devgn and Siddhartha Malhotra. Srivastava said in his petition that Ajay Devgn, dressed in a suit, is seen portraying Chitragupta and in one of the scenes he is shown cracking jokes and using offensive language. The petitioner’s statement will be recorded on November 18.  According to him, the film’s trailer mocks religion and has offended religious sentiments.

“Chitragupta is regarded as the Lord of Karma and keeps a record of a man’s good and bad deeds. Such depiction of Gods can create an unpleasant situation since it hurts religious sentiments,” the petition said.
