After three Box office disappointments in a row this year (Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bndhan), Akshay Kumar is now gearing up for his forthcoming crime thriller. Cuttputli’s trailer was recently released and has caused quite a stir on social media. It is the official Hindi version of Ratsasan, a South film that was released in 2018.
It is reported that it has been bought by the Star Network for its direct digital release on the OTT plaform Disney+ Hotsar for Rs 180 crore. It will be releasing on the platform on September 2nd. Akshay Kumar took to his Instagram account post about this and captioned it as,”3 Murders, 1 City, A Cop and A Serial-Killer out on the loose! #CuttputlionHotstar drops on 2nd September, only on @disneyplushotstar”.

The movie is directed by Ranjit Tewari and this is the second time Akshay Kumar is collaborating with him. Cuttputli also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Chandrachur Singh, Sargun Mehta & other actors.
Akshay Kumar plays a cop in this crime thriller who is trying to hunt down a serial killer. On this mission, He adopts number of different strategies to fetch him. This will be Akshay’s third OTT appearance, following Atrangi Re and Laxmi. OTT platforms purchasing movie rights are becoming increasingly popular as a large number of people are connected to these platforms and and it is a good way to generate revenue from streaming.
