Yesterday proved to be a bad day not only for Morbi but for the entire Gujarat. Many families were scattered and the innocent were left alone.. Especially since it was Sunday, parents took their children out for a walk. Who knew that this Sunday would be the last one for people visiting Morbi’s suspension bridge.
A suspension bridge collapsed, killing a husband and wife who had moved to Uma township of Morbi from Pramuchswami Nagar of Halwad city. Their four-year-old child was saved by the forces of nature. Halwad, on the other hand, will be entirely closed this afternoon due to the Gozari disaster in Morbi.
More than 100 people have died in the Gozari tragedy in Morbi on Sunday evening. In this incident Hardikbhai Ashokbhai Faldu and his wife Miralben Hardikbhai Faldu and their four year old son Jayans and Hardikbhai Masano’s family went for a walk on the swinging bridge from Pramuchswami Nagar of Halwad city and now living in Uma township of Morbi and working as CA in Morbi.
Because of the collapse of the bridge, Hardikbhai and his wife Miralben died, while Hardikbhai’s mother’s son Harshbhai Jhalawadia of Rajkot was injured and they were shifted to Rajkot for treatment, while Harshbhai’s wife Miraben died. Following the accident in Morbi, the Halwad city will be completely closed after noon today, said Vinubhai Patel, president of the Halwad Trade Association.
