T20 World Cup 2022: South Africa won by 5 wickets Ngidi, Parnell, Markram, Miller the star of the match

World Cup 2022: After coming back from being down 24 for 3 to beat India and successfully chasing down 134, South Africa climbed to the top of group 2’s points standings and increased their prospects of making the semifinals. Aiden Markram and David Miller led South Africa to victory.

The South African quickly set the tone on a fast pitch with hard lengths and loads of speed.
In the ninth over, they got India down to 49 for 5, but Suryakumar Yadav kept the innings going with his 11th T20I half-century, albeit with little help.
They scored 52 runs when combined with Dinesh Karthik’s six runs. Although all of South Africa’s quick played well, Lungi Ngidi and Wayne Parnell, who each claimed seven wickets, were the biggest beneficiaries of their plan. Anrich Nortje regularly logged speeds of over 150 kph while putting on on the heat on a chilly night, and Kagiso Rabada, for once, sat in the backseat.

The assault by India was outstanding since they used longer lengths and found swing. Here were some areas where the two sides diverged. India bowled 48 and grabbed one for 53, while South Africa bowled 50 short or short of a fair length delivery and claimed six wickets for 34.

Both captains ultimately had to take a chance with their spinner usage. Temba Bavuma still has trouble with the bat and failed again, but he made the right decision by giving Markram only one over and using Keshav Maharaj for three. They combined to give up 33 runs in just four overs. In the 18th over, Rohit Sharma bowled R Ashwin out and used him. Markram had already been dismissed by that point, but Miller was still bowling, and South Africa needed 25 runs off of 18 balls. Even though Miller got rid of Tristan Stubbs in Ashwin’s over, which cost 13 runs, South Africa won.

Pakistan in particular, whose chances of making the semifinals are significantly hampered by this result, along with the rest of the group.
Pakistan must not only overcome South Africa on Thursday in light of South Africa’s triumph, but also hope that either South Africa loses to the Netherlands or that either India loses to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Ngidi’s Destructive bowling in the powerplay

India needed 10 deliveries to get going against the swinging ball before both of their openers over the enormous boundaries, which was the longest delay in their T20I history.
Parnell was smashed over midwicket by KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, but neither player added much more.
The impact of Ngidi’s hard lengths were apparent as soon as he joined the game in the fifth over.
Despite being mishit over the covers, Rohit’s opening ball nevertheless dropped safely.
While he was bent over pulling, the ball struck the splice of the bat, giving Ngidi enough time to cross the field and secure the catch.
Ngidi was only getting started, too.
Rahul edged a ball to third man at the end of that over after being surprised by the extra bounce.
At slip, Markram was practically on the edge of the ring and in the ideal position to capture the ball.
India went 26 for 2 on the power-play before finishing with a score of 33 for 2.

Virat Kohli gave Ngidi a quick response by hitting back-to-back boundaries, but he erred when he attempted to handle the bouncer. Rabada, who was in a deep-square position, came around the corner to grab a good running catch after Kohli fired a pull towards the fine leg. Rabada also went one better, similar to Ngidi. Hardik Pandya took a chance against the short ball in Ngidi’s subsequent over and pulled to fine leg. He made a good connection, but not a good enough one to gain the distance he desired. Rabada did as he rushed from the boundary rope, leaped in front of the ball, and grabbed it with both hands while both feet were still on the ground. Indian score was 49 for 5.

More boundaries were hit by Suryakumar than by any other Indian hitter put together, accounting for more than half of India’s total runs. Except for his first boundary, an edge off Nortje that sailed over first slip, he timed and placed his shots well and handled the short ball with some finesse. By concentrating on Maharaj, he pushed Bavuma to employ Markram for an over and damaged Ngidi’s statistics by scoring 11 runs off of his final over. Suryakumar faced 12 balls from Maharaj, and he scored 25 runs overall. He scored 68 runs at a 170 batting average, while the rest of India’s lineup scored 57 runs at a 71.25 batting average. Suryakumar overtook Mohammad Rizwan to become the player who scored the most runs in T20Is in 2022 as a result of this.

Singh is king

India concentrated on swing while South Africa used bounce to make their initial cuts. Quinton de Kock chased and nicked off the first ball that Arshdeep Singh struck, which swung away from him. He struck Rilee Rossouw on the back pad two balls later. Rohit disagreed, while Arshdeep said the movement took the ball wide of the leg stump. When he looked again, the ball tracking showed that it would continue to strike the top of the middle and leg. Rossouw was out for his third consecutive duck in five innings, all at Arshdeep’s hands. Rossouw has two centuries between those two scores. South Africa was 3 for 2 after nine deliveries, and things didn’t get any better. As he attempted to ramp Mohammed Shami over the wicketkeeper, Bavuma continued to struggle and inside-edged to Karthik instead. At 24 for 3, South Africa finished the powerplay.

Markram Destructive batting

South Africa had to speed up after the drinks break because they had slowed down to 40 for 3 at the middle of their innings.
After taking on Pandya’s quick deliveries in response to Miller’s call for a quick single, Markram pressured India’s fielders by slamming the boundary twice in three balls.

When Miller touched the ball to the backward point, Suryakumar dove in and tried to avoid the striker’s end, but he failed.
When Markam faced Ashwin, he advanced down the pitch, hit a carrom ball for four, and then threw the ball to deep mid-wicket, where Kohli fumbled and ultimately dropped the catch.

Markam has climbed to position 35. After 25 runs were scored in the 11th and 12th overs as a whole, India had to put in an early seamer. Despite Shami’s third over only costing three runs, India lost a third opportunity to get a wicket. While Markram was already halfway down, Miller rushed after deflecting a delivery. Rohit attempted to shoot at three stumps, but was unsuccessful.
Ashwin and Markram both continued before Miller extended his front leg to hit Ashwin for six over long-off.
He was then despatched over a long-on for an extra six by Markram. South Africa won after scoring 45 runs in the final four overs following refreshments.
