Nagaland polls: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma says BJP will win in all three northeast states polls

GUWAHATI, FEB 21: Assam chief minister and NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma said the BJP will win in all three northeastern states.

The Tripura assembly elections were held on February 16 while the polls would be held in Nagaland and Meghalaya on February 27.

Addressing two poll rallies in Nagaland’s Alongtaki and Bhandari, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the BJP and NDPP alliance government has given a stable government in the state in the last five years.

“There is hope with the BJP-NDPP alliance while the opposition parties in Nagaland have no hope, only frustration. If the BJP-NDPP coalition government will came into power then we would solve all the problems of the hill state,” Sarma asserted.

CM Sarma said, “After the elections, if the coalition forms the government, Naga political solution would be achieved in the next five years. On the basis of the uniqueness of the Naga political history and uniqueness of the Naga people, other Naga problems would be solved,”.

The NDPP and the BJP had contested the 2018 elections with a 40:20 seat-sharing formula and the alliance partners in July last year have decided to continue with the same understanding.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Nagaland on February 24 to address political rally.
