Nagaland women nominated at National road safety council

Kohima: Dziesekhrienuo Keretsu of Nagaland has become the first person from Northeast to be nominated to the prestigious and important national road safety council.

Keretsu hails from D khel village of Kohima.

The ministry of road transport and national highways ( morth), government of india vide a notification dated 07.08.2023 published in the official gazette of government of india made this announcement.

Keretsü is the only woman member in the 11 nominated members in the country.

As a nominated member Keretsü will have a tenure of 2 years and would be a part of the national road safety council to guide and prepare all aspects of road safety in the country.

Keretsü has informed that she will represent nagaland and north east in the council and take up the issues of road safety and road transport at the national level .

“With the improvements in the road connectivity in the state, all aspects related to road safety including safe roads, safe driving and safety awareness would be my priority areas,” she said.

She has conveyed her sincere gratitude to Nitin Gadkari, minister for ministry of road transport and national highways, government of india for giving her this opportunity to serve on this council.
