Putin Praises Indian Foreign Policy & PM Modi is a Great Patriot

The autonomous foreign policy of India was praised by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who also referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as wonderful patriot.  He added India has bright future and is playing bigger part in world events.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was hailed as a great patriot by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who also praised India’s independent foreign policy. He added that there are no unresolved issues between India and Russia and that the two nations share special relations.

Putin Statement

“PM Modi is a great patriot who is able to pursue an independent foreign policy despite any attempts to do some detente or limit something.””I am sure India has a great future and an increasing role in global affairs,”

In addition, Vladimir Putin hailed India’s transformation from a British colony into a contemporary nation. From being a British colony to becoming an independent nation, India has gone a long way. We are connected uniquely. We have never had any challenging circumstances and have always been there for one another. He said, “I’m sure that will happen in the future.” Vladimir Putin criticised the US and its allies earlier in his opening remarks, calling their game of global dominance “dirty, deadly, and brutal.”

Following India’s decision to abstain from voting on a United Nations resolution denouncing Russia’s annexation of the four Ukrainian provinces of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia, Putin praised India’s foreign policy.

India claimed that other urgent concerns were at play and that the resolution did not fully address them. The intensification of the violence in Ukraine, which has included attacking civilian infrastructure and the killing of civilians, has, however, also drawn India’s grave concern.

“My Prime Minister has said unequivocally that this cannot be an era of war. With this firm resolve to strive for a peaceful solution through dialogue and diplomacy, India has decided to abstain,” Ruchira Kamboj, Permanent Representative to the UN had said.
