BJP president JP Nadda releases Sankalp Patra for Tripura polls

GUWAHATI: Ahead of Tripura assembly polls, BJP national president JP Nadda on Thursday released party’s manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ 2023 at a programme in Agartala.

The ‘Sankalp Patra’ announced setting up a Regional Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Agartala.

“Sankalp Patra is a commitment towards the development of the state. It is not just a piece of paper, its a commitment towards the development of the people and its state. Did you ever hear in 70 years that a leader brings his report card? But the BJP leader comes with report card,” Nadda stated.

The manifesto promised a Balika Somriddhi Scheme, a bond of Rs 50,000 to each family from financially weaker sections on the birth of a girl child and Mukhyamantri Konya Atmonirbhor Yojana to provide free scooty (two wheeler) to meritorious college-going female students.

The Sankalp Patra also promised to provide two free LPG cylinders to all the beneficiaries under the PM Ujjwala Yojana, distribute land pattas to all eligible landless citizens, provide affordable housing to all registered beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin and Urban by 2025.

The BJP also promised to establish the Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Tribal University, provide cooked food three times a day at Rs 5 per meal, under the PM Kisan – increase the financial assistance from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per annum, double the per-family annual cap from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and housing to all registered beneficiaries.

The BJP also promised to restructure the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to provide it with greater autonomy and additional legislative, executive, administrative, and financial powers, within the framework of the proposed 125th Constitution Amendment Bill.

The manifesto said if the party comes to power in the ensuing elections Rs 600 crores would be invested in the Tripura Unnata Gram Fund for further developing rural infrastructure, ensuring last-mile delivery of caste certificates by providing caste certificates within 15 days of submission of the application.

BJP’s star campaigner has already arrived in Tripura and started campaigning for their candidates.

The Tripura BJP leaders have started door-door campaign seeking votes from the voters. Tripura chief minister Manik Saha has been busy in door to door campaign seeking votes.

The 60-member Tripura assembly seats will go for polls on February 16. All the major poltical parties have geared up for the polls and doing every possible means to appease the voters.
