A fresh application filed by Maneka Gambhir seeking nod to visit mother in Bangkok

Maneka Gambhir, the in-law of Trinamool Congress national secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Monday filed a new appeal with the Calcutta High Court requesting authorization to go to Bangkok, Thailand to see her “ailing mother.”

The appeal was granted by the Justice Rajasekhar Mantha bench, and the matter will be heard on Thursday (November 3).
She requested that her case be heard swiftly, but the vacation bench of Justice Lapita Bandopadhyay denied her plea on October 20.
Justice Bandopadhyay has referred the case to the regular bench.

Becausewatch notice the ED had issued against Gambhir, the immigration department at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport prohibited her from travelling to Bangkok on September 10.
