TMC MP Saugata Roy say we want peaceful rural polls in Bengal

Saugata Roy, a prominent Trinamool member and Dum Dum MP, stated that he desired fair and tranquil panchayat elections in Bengal. Roy said that because the opposition was nonexistent at the grassroots, there was no danger of “coercion” this time. “We kept Bijaya Sammilanis and built up our power. Roy declared, “We are the only party that has the people.

During the rural elections, Roy rejected the opposition’s demand for paramilitary forces and asserted that anyone could submit a nomination. There is no requirement for coercion. I learned some people were unable to cast ballots in the previous panchayat elections. It affected voters’ attitudes in the ensuing polls for the Parliament, according to Roy.

A similar claim had been made by the TMC leadership prior to the municipal elections.
The opposition interpreted Roy’s remark as confirmation of their grievances from the 2018 panchayat elections. “Better late than never, right? BJP leader Rahul Sinha stated that the Trinamool has finally admitted that it did not permit the opposition to submit nominations, much less enable voters to cast their ballots.
Sujan Chakraborty, the head of the CPM, claimed that the Trinamool leader was making admissions because the party had realised that if leaders used the same techniques this time, they would be rejected.
