Lt Col Swaroop Singh Kuntal won 50 kms Durshet Forest Ultramarathon

Lt Col Swaroop Singh Kuntal won 50 kms Durshet Forest Ultramarathon on 21 aug 2022. kuntal completed 50 kms Ultramarathon in 4 hrs and 39 mins and was declared winner. Ultramarathon was organised by Runbuddies in Durshet Forest near Lonavala and the route was through the forest with an elevation of around 500 m. Continuous rain made made the Ultramarathon more challenging and grueling.

Lt Col Kuntal is Paratrooper and earlier he has won number of Ultramarathons, Stadium Runs and Triathlons. He was fastest Indian in Ironman Malaysia 2019 comprising of 3.8 kms swimming, 180 kms cycling and 42.2 kms running in 12 hrs 14 mins.

He is winner of Ultraman India comprising of 10 kms swimming, 420 kms cycling and 84.4 kms running. In 2021, he ran 191.4 kms in 24 hrs ìn Stadium Run at Chandigarh. Earlier in 2019, he ran 118.7 kms in 12 hrs stadium run. Kuntal gas participated in National Road Cycling Championship twice.
