Assam: Bhattadev University Register caught red-handed while accepting bribe

GUWAHATI, AUG 6: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Saturday arrested Guru Prasad Khataniar, Register of Bhattadev University for accepting bribe in Assam’s Bajali district.

The officials from Directorate and Vigilance and Anti-Corruption caught Khataniar red-handed while accepting bribe.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Special DGP(Law and Order) Gyanendra Pratap Singh wrote, “Our fight against corruption continues. Today, a team Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam of caught red-handed Sri Guru Prasad Khataniar, Registrar, Bhattadev University, Pathsala, District – Bajali with accepted bribe money. Further Lawful action is being taken.”

Meanwhile, the Assam government has taken a tough stand against corruption and making all posible way to root out corruption from the government departments.

On August 3, sleuths of the same department arrested a forest official after giving a hot chase for over a kilometre in the Cachar district.  The forest ranger, identified as Debabrata Gogoi, of Lakhipur.

Singh also  informed that another government official  a Mandal – had been nabbed in the Kamrup district.

The arrested individual, identified as Madan Nath, was caught red-handed while allegedly taking a bribe.
