Assam: FIR files against Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jayanta Mallah Baruah & Sadhguru for jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park  

GUWAHATI, SEP 25:  The conscious people of Kaziranga on Sunday filed an FIR at Bokakhat police station against Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jayanta Mallah Baruah and Sadhguru Jaghi Vasudev for violating Wildlife Protection Act 1972 at Kaziranga National Park.

Talking to the correspondent, Soneswar Narah, chief adviser, Jeepal Krishak Shramik Sangha said, “Today, we have filed an FIR against chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jayanta Mallah Baruah and Sadhguru Jaghi Vasudev for violating Wildlife Protection Act 1972 at Kaziranga National Park. After 4 pm Jeep Safari was not allowed inside Kaziranga National Park but Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jayanta Malla Baruah and Sadhguru were seen enjoying Jeep Safari at Kaziranga National Park after 6 pm  violating Wildlife Protection Act 1972.”

“We are living in peripheral region of Kaziranga National Park for many years and sacrificed many things for the National park. Many of our people were killed by the forest personnel branded them as poachers,” he said.

He further stated, “The law is equal for all. How can they violate the Wildlife protection Act 1972. We would not tolerate such activities. They should be arrested for violating the Wildlife act.”

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev, popularly known as Sadguru have faced flak for enjoying Safari at the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on Saturday night.

Sadhguru, who arrived at Kaziranga to inaugurate the three-day Chintan Shivir organized by the Assam government, on Saturday night led a jeep Safari from Mihimukh.
