GUWAHATI, JULY 14: Dibrugarh police arrested a fake doctor from Chaulkhowa area in upper Assam Dibrugarh on Thursday.
The fake doctor have been identified as Safikul Haque.
A case no 340/22 u/s 419/ 468/471 was registered at Dibrugarh police station.
According to locals, six months ago, he had open a chamber Allied Health clinic in Chaulkhowa and prescribing medicine to patients, who went to him for treatment.
The fake doctor was arrested on the basis of complaints filed by the village headman Rubal Ali and another four person of Chaulkhowa.
“Few days ago, I went to him after suffering of weakness. He told me that my liver and Kidney can be damage anytime. He prescribed me some medicines but after taking the medicine my problem has not solved. I went to another doctor and he told me that my hemoglobin level was low and he prescribed me iron tablets. I doubted the previous doctor for his wrong diagnosis. After some days, we have came to know that he was a fake doctor,” said a victim.
The fake doctor has been running his chamber and prescribing medicines to the people.
“The fake doctor has been running a racket in our village for last several months. Six months ago, he had done a wrong treatment to a pregnant women from then we have started gathering information on him. We are happy that finally he was arrested,” said a local resident of Chaulkhowa.
Talking to this Correspondent, Dibrugarh Additional Superitendent of police(HQ) Bitul Chetia said, “We have arrested a fake doctor from Chaulkhowa on the basis of complaints field by numerous people of Chaulkhowa. During investigation, we found that he didn’t have any degree to become a doctor. We have seized some fake documents from his residence,”.
Safiqul Haque hails from lower Assam Nalbari district and for last several months he had duped more than 100 people in Chaulkhowa area of Dibrugarh.
