MSU professor Dr. Vanisha Nambiar appointed in WHO technical advisory group for Integrated Clinical Care SUB First alumni of the MSU to receive this appointment

Prof (Dr.) Vanisha Nambiar, has received an appointment to the World Health Organization (WHO) Technical Advisory Group for Integrated Clinical Care (TAG-IC2) for a period of 2 years.

Professor Nambiar has received an invitation letter from Dr. Rudi Eggers, Director, Integrated Health Services, World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland. She has expressed her interest in primary care and will be required to attend the TAG-IC2 meetings organized by WHO at Geneva, Switzerland and additionally work in smaller working groups to work on specific issues.

The TAG-IC2 is a 22-member principal advisory group to WHO for clinical support tools related to primary, emergency, operative, and critical care. TAG-IC2 advises WHO on the development and revision of integrated evidence-based guidance, standards, protocols, and pathways across these four delivery channels.

She is the only INDIAN member of the 22 member TAG-IC2 TEAM selected by WHO

Functions of the TAG-IC2
1) To provide independent evaluation of the scientific, technical, and strategic aspects of primary, emergency, operative, and critical care.
2) To advise WHO on the scope and characteristics of clinical care guidance documents;
3) To provide support and advice to WHO on evidence retrieval and synthesis;
4) To provide advice to WHO on validation of clinical recommendations through expert review;
5) To provide advice to WHO on validation of curricula and learning modules; and
6) To identify areas where ad-hoc experts are needed to provide additional review.

Prof (Dr.) Vanisha Nambiar is a full time Professor at the Department of Foods and Nutrition and Coordinator of Public Health Nutrition, and also has an additional charge as a Deputy Director of Office of International Affairs, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat and will be the first alumni of the MSU to receive this appointment.

She is the only INDIAN member of the 22 member TAG-IC2 TEAM selected by WHO, NO OTHER MSU BARODA staff has reached this level till now.
