Three homemade bombs were discovered by Chandernagore police on Monday in the playground of a primary school in Hooghly’s Bandel, leading the opposition to charge the state administration with failing to maintain law and order.

Despite the fact that no one was hurt by the bombs, which were discovered by early morning hikers, the discovery caused alarm among locals because children frequently play there.

People expressed their fear after hearing of numerous recent occurrences involving the deaths or injury of youngsters as a result of homemade bombs.

We are quite concerned, since those devices were left on the ground in the open. The students pass by this portion of the campus each day on their way to their classes, and they also play here. We are fortunate that nobody was hurt, one local added.
“The idea that schools are being used to store bombs is absurd. For this ruling establishment, it has become routine to use rudimentary bombs during elections. As the panchayat elections approach, it has resumed, according to BJP leader Suresh Shaw.

He continued, “These bombs are the outcome of Trinamul’s infighting in an effort to win power in the rural elections. Asit Majumdar, an MLA for Trinamul’s Chinsurah district, however, charged that the BJP was harbouring bombs in order to cause panic.

“The BJP has no foundation of support here, and I believe the party is responsible for storing bombs there. We want the individuals responsible for storing bombs on a school site to be apprehended, said Majumdar. A group of early-morning walkers reportedly saw the three homemade bombs on the playground of the Naldanga Narayanpur Primary School near Bandel and quickly called the police, according to sources. Police disarmed the explosives and launched an investigation to determine who put them on the playground.

Bombs are typically kept secret. When we discovered that three bombs were kept in the open on a playground, we were shocked. A senior police official with the Chandernagar police commissionerate said, “We have launched an investigation to determine whether it was intentionally kept to discredit the police force and highlight the allegedly poor law and order in the area.

For about 30 minutes, BJP members and leaders blocked a local road in protest, calling for the quick capture of the offenders.
